Kulture 4 - Anna Kemeny

Three summers ago my family spent two weeks with some friends who live in Germany. Whilst staying with them, we get to experience the German transport systems first hand. We went for lots of bike rides along the beautiful bike paths, honorably paid to use the subway, and navigated the train station with care. While sitting in a cafe once we watched a woman attempt to bike down the sidewalk and saw her catch we back wheel between two cobbles and wipe out. A couple people stopped to help her, but my friend shoot his head and said she should have known better than to ride down the sidewalk. I also learned that jaywalking is a definite no in Germany. If the signal is red, you DO NOT go. Ann Arbor residents would run into some trouble here.
