AMD 2 - Joe Schafer

For this activity I read Mark Twain's "The Awful German Language". After studying the german language for a couple weeks now I completely understand what he is complaining about. My favorite part was when he talked about how it is easier to read German when you are upside down; so that the text is read backwards. Also his description of separable verbs was hilarious. With sentences as long as those that he used as examples its easy to forget about the purpose of the sentence before you even read the verb. It is comforting to know however that even one of the greatest authors struggled to learn German. And that even after he could speak and write it, he still had problems with it.
